Staycation Planning to Langkawi Island

STAYCATION PLANNING TO LANGKAWI ISLAND | Assalamualaikum and Hi. I am back for more story telling about my life. After everything I have been going through since October including Covid and other health matters. I decided to take a week break next month to spend time with my family. And yes, I really need a good vacation and a memorable one to make this year the best ever. I still haven't decided the destination but there are several options on my mind.

Of course, all the destinations that I have in mind are island spots with white sand beaches, fresh air and cool sea breeze. There are two spots that I really love to go to and one of them is on my travel bucket list, Perhentian Island. And the other spots were loved by my family and most people in Malaysia. The best tourist place for this year goes to Langkawi Island.

There are many popular landmarks, available foods, and of course the duty free items such as chocolates, kain batik and many more to buy. Hehe. By the way, my family's last trip to Langkawi was December 2019 and it was our last vacation before the outbreak in early March 2020.

Why did I choose Langkawi? I chose Langkawi because my family is used to it. It is very easy for us as we know the places to go for shopping, food and of course the beautiful landmarks, Dataran Lang.

LANGKAWI LANDMARKS

DATARAN LANG also known as Eagle Square is a 12 metre-tall sculpture of an eagle poised to take flight. Tourists can come here to take memorable photos, just a 5 minute walk from Kuah Jetty, Jetty Point Mall and Tanah Lagenda Dalam Langkawi.

UNDERWATER WORLD LANGKAWI is also a place that I would love to go to again. In this Underwater World Langkawi, they had more than 500 species of sea creatures including harbour seals, rockhopper penguins, seahorses as well as flamingo and mandarin ducks.

We also can view sharks, giant stingrays and green turtles close up on a 15 metre walkthrough underwater tunnel. We can go here from Langkawi International Airport by car for 15 minutes.

As an animal lover, I really want to go to LANGKAWI WILDLIFE PARK AND BIRD PARADISE. There are over 25000 exotic birds from 150 different species such as canaries, parakeets, owls, eagles and many more.

This paradise also gives us a chance to feed raccoons, crocodiles, pelicans and hornbills for a certain time because it is a seasonal event. If you are staying at Kuah, it only takes 15 minutes via car.

For adventurous tourists, I would like to suggest these 3 places; Langkawi Sky Bridge, Langkawi Cable Car and Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls. I really want to go to these 3 places but my mother is afraid of heights even though she arrived here before me. I think she will be scared if we do it once again. So, I will recommend these 3 places for the exhilarating views on top and cool breeze from the waterfalls.

LANGKAWI SKY BRIDGE is 125 metre-long curved pedestrian bridge that offers an amazing view of that verdant Gunung Mat Cincang and can be occupied by up to 250 people at one time.

LANGKAWI CABLE CAR starts out at the Oriental Village and after reaching the 708 metres tall peak, tourists can enjoy the cool breeze, have a quick bite and lots of photos can be taken from the observatory deck. It only takes a 15 minute ride to the top at Gunung Mat Cincang.

And the last place to visit is TELAGA TUJUH WATERFALLS. It was known as Seven Wells Waterfalls due to a series of seven connected nature pools fed by seven separated waterfalls in Gunung Mat Cincang. It also has natural Langkawi attractions with locals claiming to be the home of faeries.

It very suits hikers and adventurers who love extreme challenges because the climb to the top of the waterfalls takes 45 minutes. By passing huge rocks and through the seven pools, the tourist can sightseeing macaques, hornbills and squirrels.

There are also many other tourist spots around Langkawi Island. So, I might have plenty of time to choose the best spots for a memorable staycation.

Staycation is a holiday spent in one's home country and involves day trips to local attractions. This 'staycation' term is still new to me. I always use the 'vacation' term rather than staycation. I learned that we can save more time and cost when having a staycation. What are the aspects of staycation.

There are many aspects of activities that can be done with staycation such as stay and dine, unwind with group, rest and relax, stay and play, stay in shape and great for explorers.

First of all, STAY and DINE is suitable for people who love traveling with food. Satisfy their food crave by foodgasm to escape to the best food in town. Indulge every moment in Langkawi by hunting and trying local food. When we energize our body with food, we are ready for our next location.

Staycation is the best when we have more the merrier with our family or friends to UNWIND WITH a GROUP. Take a short trip to release workload tension and plan family day or BFF vacation to make more memorable events to be remembered.

Having the luxury of aromatherapy and body massage is the best REST and RELAX we can have. After working so long without a break, our body, mind and soul sometimes need to rest so our body can use it for a longer time.

STAY and PLAY is the best choice we have to spend time with our children. They need to recover their energy after concentrating on their studies. They can see animals, build a sandcastle and have fun at swimming pools.

Furthermore, we can STAY IN SHAPE so our body maintains fit and healthy. There are many sports activities that can be done while staying. There are also several water activities such as swimming, diving, kayaking, parasailing, jet skiing and many more. These activities can strengthen our muscles to stay fit. But please don't exert it. We want to be healthy too.

And lastly, staycation is GREAT FOR EXPLORERS. Tourists who love adventures and historical moments would love this idea so much. They can learn more about the landmarks, history and explore the place by themselves.

With so many fun things and popular landmarks to go, I will definitely choose Langkawi Island for my next staycation. You can pick hotels in Langkawi nearest to your favourite landmarks. With the best accomodation, facilities you want it to be. So no more planning, just do it your own way. And have fun.

Lots of LOVE,
Mardhiyyah Rosli
